How do you start a business without money? That’s a very good question! Many people see ‘having no money’ as an obstacle rather than seeing it as an opportunity to challenge yourself and to find creative ways to get things done. Being an entrepreneur is basically all about having the right mindset and focusing on what you have and can while learning on the job. Still scared to start? Don’t worry, I’ve got 4 master steps to get you to action!

1. THINK BIG, START SMALL
The most important thing to know when starting a business is your vision. Your vision is the ideal picture of how your business would look like if you had an investment of one million dollars. Did you just visualize it?! Good! Keep that picture in mind and break it down into achievable steps. Use free social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Youtube to promote your business. These small steps are the seeds that will make your business grow.
2. USE ONE OF YOUR TALENTS AS YOUR SIDE HUSSTLE
Just because taking cool pictures or writing beautiful stories is something you’re naturally good at doesn’t mean it’s a common thing to do. There are seriously people out there that are willing to pay you for your talent! Write 1-3 things down you’re very good at and find people that can use your talent as a service for their business. Try to make your side hustle as effortless and affordable as you can. Remember! The goal is to make money from your main business.
3. CREATE A PROFESSIONAL BRAND
I think we both agree that we’re most likely to buy a product from an online webshop that looks attractive because of the styling and high image quality opposed to a website that uses bad image quality and bad grammer, right?! That’s the same way with your online business. There are thousands of free graphic design resources you can use to make your business look professional and attractive to your audience. These recourses allow you to design and to create your own logo and branding. My favorite graphic design platforms are Canva and Picmonkey.
4. COLLABORATE WITH PARTNERS
Collaboration is the key to success and that is a fact! Not only is partnering with others important for the growth, awareness and credibility of your business, it’s also a beautiful way of learning from each other. But a successful collaboration will only be successful if you’re aware of the strengths and weaknesses of your business.
Create a list of companies you would love to collaborate with (in the future) and write down what both your benefits are of collaborating. This helps you to prepare your pitch and to measure the outcome.
”Collaboration divides the task and multiplies the success.”
